Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tech Carpenters website and client portal, and any design, development, SEO, or web operations services we provide (collectively, the “Services”). By using our website, signing up for the client portal, or engaging us for Services, you agree to these Terms. This is standard site content, not legal advice.
Services & engagements
Specific project scope, deliverables, timelines, and pricing for one-time builds or monthly plans are set out in a proposal, order form, or the plan details shown on our pricing page at the time you sign up — those specifics control over any general description on this site. We reserve the right to reasonably scope, schedule, and prioritize work submitted through the client portal (including support tickets) based on your active plan.
Client portal accounts
If we create a client portal account for you, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@techcarpenters.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Payments & billing
Payments for project work and monthly plans are processed through Stripe. Monthly plans bill on a recurring basis until cancelled; one-time project fees are billed according to the schedule in your proposal. You're responsible for keeping valid payment information on file. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in your agreement with us.
Cancellation
Monthly plans (Maintenance Helpdesk, Web Operations) can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no partial-period refunds are issued unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Intellectual property
Upon full payment for a completed project, you own the final deliverables created specifically for you (such as your website's design and content), excluding any third-party software, libraries, stock assets, or our own pre-existing tools and frameworks, which remain licensed for your use as part of the deliverable. We may reference completed work in our own portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use our website, portal, or Services to violate any law, infringe on others' rights, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or those of other clients.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work to the standards described on this site, but we don't guarantee specific business outcomes (such as search rankings, traffic, or sales) since those depend on factors outside our control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tech Carpenters is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our Services, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services giving rise to the claim in the preceding three months.
Third-party services
Our Services rely on third-party providers — including Stripe for payments and our hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of those providers' functionality through our Services is also subject to their own terms and policies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website or Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
